When I Started
My process of interview and intuitive drawing was developed by every interview I had with everyone and it getting clear all the time what it is all about, BUT the project did not have any clear plan when I started. it drove by my curiosity to understand people and I got to learn something from every interview, so it was more like a study.
When I decided to have exhibitions in japan in summer 2015, I got a feeling that I complete this project and ready to present to the public, and the exhibitions in japan was good success, some stamps and input from people and gallery gives me some new idea for potential projects in the future. Back to holland, I created stamps which I interviewed during the stay and somehow it took me quite sometime, and when I finished and sent it all, I had a feeling that I finished this project, then..
I Stuck...
I needed to have some time to clear up whole my personal project back from very beginning when I stated to make stamp in 2011 to re-visit what I was doing and understand, even lean it.
Few day a go I visited a friend of place and I found the very first "nice to stamp you" stamp with a stone, I needed to discuss with the friend to remember what it was and the story is: I got the idea about this project and did the first interview with friend at bar and create the sketch, few day later I found the stone just like the sketch I made and we both agreed to take the stone into the design of the first stamp... I felt the story again, then I realized every other stamp has also story which I am not sure if I remember just like the one I was looking at.
Next Step
I asked the friend straight away "I like to do the interview again" I started to be curious again about the story I had with everyone and wanted to re-connect it again and see, is there anything changed from last time.
Originally the project "nice to stamp you" started with aim to connect people in local in the hague, the city where I live since 2010, also to explore the idea to visualized personal essence by interview.
